This is a versatile MGE reel with ratchet mechanism for controlled release or rewinding of line. The reel is made using marine grade steel and impact resistant platics to provide a lightweight but strong product. The handle uses a ribbed construction to increase strength and provide a large grip that is designed for use with thick gloves.This ratchet reel is supplied with 50m of 2mm thick polyester line with a breaking strain of 90kg. A plastic smb clip is fitted to the end of the line for attaching to the securing loop of an smb.The reel has four control modes Clockwise ratchet Anti clockwise ratchet Free flow mode is used for deploying SMBs. Full lock mode to provide tension for safety or decompression stops. The MGE ratchet reel can be used either in the left or right hand without requiring modification
